In my day to day life I am a planner. In my creative space, I am not. I typically have some general idea, but no formal or drawn plans.

For my Longwood ornaments I wanted them to sparkle on the trees. My typical medium is cotton cord (which does not sparkle), so I branched out and used some glass beads and chandelier crystals. Here is the list of materials I used: various colors of cotton cord, beads/crystals, bamboo/wood rings, and wood dowel.

Thinking about Christmas time, I wanted my ornaments to represent some of the feelings the holiday brings. Joy, the wish for peace  on earth, dreams for the upcoming year, and a sense of wonder.

Also because this was for Longwood I knew there had to be a flower included. I hope these feelings and excitement I had creating them comes through when you see them on the trees. It is an incredible honor to be part of this project with so many other talented artists.

All of my work is created from a place of love and with the intention that it will bring peace and happiness to others. Macrame is very meditative for me and I am hopeful that the pieces I create carry those peaceful vibes on with them. I would love for you to follow my macrame journey through Lucky Star Macrame.

You can view these beautiful ornaments on the Bellefonte Arts community tree at Longwood Gardens, during the annual A Longwood Christmas (Nov 21, 2025 through Jan 11, 2026).
