My ornaments are common, everyday food items. This includes fruits and vegetables, as well as pickled or canned goods. Reilly's imagery revolves around finding joy and beauty in small moments. Their paintings of grocery stores include repetition, patterning, and an aspect of stillness.

Over the last year, they have been exploring scale as it relates to the subject of a piece. Having the opportunity to create a series of small-scale drawings meant that they could also focus on individual items, rather than thinking about how the item exists in a space.

Reilly uses Posca markers on a gessoed cardboard surface. Once the backs are painted gold, they're sprayed with several layers of a protective gloss finish.

You can view these fun ornaments on the Bellefonte Arts community tree at Longwood Gardens, during the annual A Longwood Christmas (Nov 21, 2025 through Jan 11, 2026). Similar pieces and Reilly's paintings can be found in the Bellefonte Arts Shop in Bellefonte (Wilmington), DE.
