Kara Hinson Art Longwood Community Tree Ornaments

Kara Hinson is a visual artist based in Delaware. Her art prominently features representations of black women in a variety of medium including vivid, layered watercolor portraits and illustrative ink/digital drawings.

Surrealistic colors create a dreamlike atmosphere in which her paintings focus on the diversity and strength of women. Often incorporating themes of nature, astrology and nostalgia, her work aims to offer inspiration and tranquility.

Kara's ornaments for the Bellefonte Arts Longwood Gardens Community Tree are small replicas of her larger paintings, scaled down to a few inches. These glass frames allowed her to show the full painting as well as the avian details on opposite sides.

The Longwood Gardens theme for A Longwood Christmas this year embraces gems, jewel tones and anything that sparkles. Kara embellished all her ornaments to show off that theme incorporated with her artistic style.

Kara volunteers her time to help run the events, social media and graphics for Bellefonte Arts. Here work is on display in the shop, and you can find her selling her work in person at different shows & events.
