Larry Hinson was an award-winning photographer from Wilmington, Delaware. His love of photography began as a counselor at YMCA Camp Tockwogh, where he learned darkroom processing. Larry enjoyed photographing landscapes, airshows, seascapes, portraits, urban scenes and the American Bald Eagle.
His love for photography was well documented through his memberships with several photography and art groups including: Delaware Photographic Society, the Photographic Society of America, The Rehoboth Art League, and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.
Larry was an active member of Bellefonte Arts for several years, until his passing in 2020.
Ornament process
For Larry's ornaments, we wanted to feature some of his personal favorite nature shots - a blue bird, ocean views and the bald eagle. We selected small images that he had already printed.

Images were adhered together to create a double view in the small glass frames. Colored crystals were attached to fit the "jewels and gemstones" theme.

He took many photographs at Longwood Gardens over the years - this is a very fitting tribute in his memory!

You can view these beautiful ornaments for the Bellefonte Arts community tree at Longwood Gardens, during the annual A Longwood Christmas (Nov 21, 2025 through Jan 11, 2026). Bellefonte Arts also has numerous prints of Larry's work in the shop if you would like to view more of his photography.
