The idea behind the ornaments came from the past. When my daughter was still in college, she was making flower balls from artificial flowers and ribbons for her projects.

Eventually, those flower balls ended up with me. I love and cherish them and always hang them on my Christmas tree every year. When my daughter visits me on Christmas, she is happy to see her flower balls on the christmas tree.

When I was thinking about what to do for the Longwood Gardens Tree, I thought about those flower balls and thought that would be a great idea to revive them.

My daughter approved the idea, and together we made a bunch of flower balls and, in addition to ribbons, decorated them with jewels, pearls, and sparkles, to keep with the jewels theme.

I believe our flower balls turned out pretty good, and I hope that people would love to see them displayed at Lingwood Gardens Tree.
